We have something to celebrate. Right before the New Year, we hit 5000 subscribers! Yay!!!!!! It’s time to celebrate!!!! And what better way than to try something absolutely different. A pie inside a cake.

1 (7 in) pumpkin pie (click here fore recipe)
1 recipe of streusel topping (click here for streusel recipe)
Icing glaze (Powder sugar and water)
Preheat oven to 350F
Bake the pumpkin pie, let cook completely.
Make 2 1/2 recipes of pumpkin spice cake
Cover cake pan with 1/3 of pumpkin spice cake batter.
Place the pie in the cake pan.
Fill the sides between the cake pan and pie with 1/3 of the pumpkin spice cake batter. Cover the pumpkin pie with the remaining 1/3 of the pumpkin spice cake batter.
Top with the streusel topping.
Bake at 350 F for 70 minutes.
Let cool completely before cutting.
This is such a fun project, though labor intensive, it is defiantly a winner. You can get very creative with the flavors of the pie and cake.
