Description

A warm and cozy hot apple cider made with cinnamon, cardamom, orange slices, and maple syrup. The easiest holiday drink to serve guests.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 gallon apple cider
  • 1 cinnamon stick (ceylon)
  • 3 cardamom pods
  • 3 orange slices
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup

Instructions

Add everything to a crockpot and warm on low until fragrant. Avoid boiling as it can dull the spices, make the cider taste flat, and even cause the cider to separate. Gentle heat keeps all those cozy flavors smooth and delicious.

Notes

This time of year I like to keep this drink in a crock pot, on the kitchen counter, ready to go, when we are expecting guests!  There is nothing that says welcome like Hot Apple Cider.  Your guests will love it!
