Quick & Easy Whole Wheat Bread

This Quick and Easy Whole Wheat Bread only needs to rise once, which cuts down the time significantly and makes it one of my absolute favorite bread recipes.

  • 2 cups white whole wheat flour
  • 1 cup sprouted spelt flour (or you can use white whole wheat pastry flour)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 4 teaspoons dry yeast
  • 1/4 cup gluten flour

  • 2 tablespoon molasses
  • 2 tablespoon coconut oil
  • 1 3/4 cup warm water

  • In a large bowl combine all the dry ingredients, flour, salt and yeast.  Stir to combine
  • In a separate bowl stir together the molasses, coconut oil and warm water
  • Next, mix together the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients
  • Transfer to a clean countertop and knead for 10 minutes (Do not skip this step, it’s crucial)
  • Shape the dough into a loaf and place in a greased loaf pan
  • Cover with a towel and let rise for 45-60 minutes, until the dough is about one inch above the loaf pan
  • Bake in a preheated oven at 350 degrees for about 40-45 minutes, until the loaf is golden brown
