Quick & Easy Whole Wheat Bread

There is nothing quite like the smell of fresh-baked bread.  It tells your visitors they have come to the right place and your family members that they are where they belong.  And when on top of that the bread is quick and easy to make, it’s a real winner.  Today I am going to show you my go-to recipe for when I need a loaf of bread, but do not have all day to bake.  This Quick and Easy Whole Wheat Bread only needs to rise once, which cuts down the time significantly and makes it one of my absolute favorite bread recipes.

Bread Making at My Family’s House:

Typically in our house, when we make bread, we make several loaves at a time.   It is an efficient way to keep us in stock.  When the bread has cooled completely, we slice and freeze it.  Having several loaves of bread in the freezer makes it so easy.    It’s super convenient when you need a quick meal.  Bring out as many slices as you need, toast the bread, add the desired toppings, and you are ready to go.  This particular bread freezes and toasts so wonderfully.

Using mostly whole-grain flour makes this bread high in nutrients, protein, antioxidants, trace minerals, and fiber.  In other words, it is great for your health.   The more whole-grain we can incorporate into our diet, the better.

I think you will be amazed at how tasty and wonderful this bread is, and you should be able to make it in less than 2 hours, which makes it a great option for a busy lifestyle or when you just need a quick meal.  We sweeten the bread with a little molasses, which adds flavor and moisture.  We also add a little bit of all-purpose flour to make it light and airy.

Quick & Easy Whole Wheat Bread

You may have a family that does not care too much for whole wheat bread.  If that is the case, start with a little less whole wheat flour and gradually increase week by week, and they will soon get a taste for it.  After all, though French bread tastes so wonderful, I love it too, it does not provide the nutrients that this basic whole wheat bread does.
