  • So fresh! This mango smoothie is like a cool tropical paradise with its vibrant flavors and fruity goodness.
  • Natural sweetness: The combination of mango, banana, and white grape juice concentrate provides a natural, guilt-free sweetness. You won’t need to add refined sugars or artificial sweeteners.
  • Speedy drink: It’s quick and easy to prepare, perfect for busy mornings or a healthy snack on the go.
  • Adjustable recipe You can easily customize this smoothie to suit your preferences. Adjust the ingredients, quantities, or add-ins to create your perfect blend.
  • Perfect for all ages: Whether you’re making it for yourself or for your family, this mango smoothie is likely to be a crowd-pleaser. It’s a delicious way to introduce kids to healthier snack options.

Ingredients and substitution notes

  • Organic frozen mango and pineapple chunks: They’re convenient and can make your smoothie delightfully cold without ice.
  • Orange juice: Freshly squeezed OJ adds a burst of citrusy sweetness to the smoothie. The freshness of the juice can make a noticeable difference in flavor.
  • Lime juice: I love adding lime juice to my smoothies. It balances out the sweetness.
  • Banana: This contributes a natural sweetness to the smoothie and provides a creamy texture.
  • 100% white grape juice concentrate: Ensure its 100% pure with no added sugars or artificial ingredients for the best flavor and health benefits.

Mango Smoothie Recipe Variations and Add-ins

  • Protein-packed:  Add a scoop of vegan yogurt and some protein powder. I like to use a vanilla-flavored protein powder as it goes well with the other ingredients.
  • Spinach or kale: Boost the nutritional value by adding a handful of spinach or kale leaves for a green smoothie with an extra vitamin and fiber punch.
  • Almond or cashew milk: Experiment with other non-dairy milk alternatives for a different flavor profile.
  • Chia seeds: Toss in chia seeds for added fiber and omega-3 fatty acids. They will also thicken up the texture.
  • Almond or peanut butter: A spoonful of almond or peanut butter can make your smoothie rich and nutty.
  • Coconut Flakes: Sprinkle coconut flakes on top or blend them into the smoothie for a truly tropical experience.

Top tips

  • Properly freeze ingredients: When using frozen ingredients like mango and pineapple, make sure they are well-frozen. This is super important for the texture.
  • Balance sweetness: Taste your smoothie before serving and adjust the sweetness as needed. If it’s too tart, add a touch of maple syrup, agave nectar, or more banana. If it’s too sweet, balance it with a lime or lemon juice squeeze.
  • Control consistency: To achieve your desired consistency, control the amount of liquid you add. For a thicker smoothie, use less liquid; for a thinner one, add more.
  • Blend in stages: Start by blending the liquid and fruits first. Once they’re smooth, add ingredients like yogurt or greens and mix again. This helps ensure even distribution and a well-blended texture.
  • Add ice sparingly: If you add ice cubes, use them sparingly. Too much ice can dilute the flavor and make the mango smoothie less creamy.
  • Use a high-powered blender: A powerful blender can make a major difference in the smoothness and consistency of your smoothie. If you make smoothies frequently, consider investing in a high-quality blender.
  • Enhance nutritional value: Experiment with add-ins like chia seeds, flax seeds, or protein powder to boost the nutritional content of your smoothie.
  • Get Creative: Be bold and experiment with different fruits and sweeteners.
  • Keep it chilled: Serve your smoothie immediately to enjoy it at its coldest and freshest. If you need to store it, refrigerate it in an airtight container briefly, but remember that the texture may change.

Make ahead of instructions and storage

Make-ahead instructions:

Start by preparing and measuring all the ingredients as per my recipe, including chopping and freezing fruits if required.

You can assemble your mango smoothie ingredients in advance and store them in individual portions or containers. Place all ingredients except the liquid in a resealable bag or container for a single-serving smoothie.

If you’ve prepared multiple portions, label each bag or container with the date of preparation to keep track of freshness.

Storage instructions:

When you’re ready to blend the mango smoothie, add the ingredients and liquid components (such as juice or yogurt) to your blender. Blend until smooth.

After blending, your smoothie is ready to be enjoyed immediately. Add a few ice cubes before blending if you prefer a colder smoothie.

If you’ve made too much smoothie and can’t consume it all at once, you can refreeze the leftovers in airtight containers. Be aware that the texture may change slightly after being frozen and thawed a second time.

If you portion your ingredients in advance and have extra portions in the freezer, you can repeat the refrigeration and blending steps for a quick and convenient future smoothie.
