Filled with wonderfully fresh ingredients packed with energizing properties, it will feed your body and hopefully give that extra energy you need.
Fruit, vegetables, seeds, nuts, and grain feed our body excellent fuel to produce energy. We want to pack as much of these into our diet a possible. This wonderful energy-boosting smoothie does just that, and it is also absolutely delicious.
Let’s Talk about Energy-Boosting Smoothie Ingredients:
Plant-based milk:
We usually start with some plant-based milk for some extra protein. Protein is a critical part of the processes that fuel our energy. Organic soy milk, in particular, has a valuable protein content. Cashew milk is another great choice, but the plant-based milk on the market with the highest protein content is pea milk. Choose your favorite milk for this smoothie, or just use water. We often do. For a nut-free option use a nut-free milk.
Nuts:
Nuts is another food high in protein. We add walnuts to this smoothie because these nuts are known for their brain-enhancing properties.
They are rich in omega-3 fatty acids and contain higher amounts of antioxidants than most other foods. For a nut-free option leave out the nuts.
Chia seeds:
Chia Seeds have an impressive pedigree of health benefits. It delivers a huge amount of nutrients, antioxidants, and fiber. High in Omega-3 fatty acids and protein. It is one of those superfoods that should be consumed every day, and this energy-boosting smoothie is a great way to deliver those amazing properties into the body.
Apple:
I am sure you are familiar with the saying: “an apple a day keeps the doctor away.” This saying was used in my home as we were growing up, and with good reason. Apples come with a list of impressive nutrients, fiber, and antioxidants. They can help boost and fortify the immune system. This is especially the case with red apples, so we use a red apple for this recipe.
Banana:
The banana is a fruit with which we are all familiar. It is one of the most consumed fruits in the world. It also happens to be one of the most nutritious and medicinal fruits that exist. But the best quality for our immune-boosting smoothie is that it provides the creaminess that makes this smoothie so amazing. So yes, we will take its wonderful medicinal properties along with its flavor and fantastic creaminess.
Blueberries:
Then there is the beautiful and favorite blueberry. Filled with fiber, antioxidants, and an impressive amount of nutrients, they are a wonderful addition to this energy-boosting smoothie. The best part, of course, is the way they taste.
Oats:
Oats are arguably another perfect superfood. I don’t know about you, but I have oats for breakfast several times a week. They are high in fiber, protein, potassium, magnesium, and other minerals. The fiber in oats is digested slowly, which stabilizes blood sugar levels all day, giving you more lasting energy. For a gluten-free option use gluten-free oats.
So, we have packed many energy-boosting things into this smoothie. Feel free to experiment with the amount of each ingredient. This Energy-boosting Smoothie can be a breakfast on the go. Hopefully, it will give you some wonderful energy for your day.
